David Haley
A native of Washington DC, David went west to graduate Summa Cum Laude from UCLA on a full UC Regents Academic Scholarship for a B.A. in English. The following day, he drove cross country to NYC in 1996 and settled on the Lower East Side. David spent his salad days on the LES as a young writer when it was still a sleepy yet edgy artists' enclave with a total of about 2-3 bars/restaurants to choose from as 'nightlife'.
David later co-created the "Pioneer Division" at Misrahi Realty on the Lower East Side under the legendary Broker Sion Misrahi; the name 'Pioneer' chosen as a nod to his teams' combined decades on the LES as long time local Residents and Artists, Business Operators, and eventually as Real Estate Brokers.
After a decade on the LES, David migrated over the bridge to Broker in the then relatively untouched Southside Williamsburg of the mid-aughts where he soon found himself working directly with future Coda Real Estate founder, Alan Moretz. The two became fast friends as the top producing agents in the area. David recently joined Coda Real Estate NYC as an Associate Broker in order to work with his old friend and colleague, Principal Broker Alan Moretz. Commercial Sales & Leasing occupies David's primary focus and he also continues to handle select Residential transactions.
David considers himself lucky to have been a small part of the old LES, and to have caught a glimpse of Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Ridgewood long before these markets went wild. This cherished experience and long term NYC residency motivates him now to preserve the vibrant independent spirt of the city he initially witnessed.
In his free time, David still considers himself an 'Artist' (he has screenwriting representation on both coasts). He also claims to be a 'scratch' golfer... well, he did have a hole-in-one at 13 years old using a driver on a 220 yard par 3 in front of the club pro at Kenwood C.C. in Bethesda MD where he worked on the driving range every day after school until dark.
